You are looking at a picture of Gov. Mike Beebe speaking at the University of the Ozarks. I wasn't there that afternoon but if I were I would have taken the opportunity to ask a question. I want to know when or if he has any plans or desire to re-open the rest stops on I-40. I want to know why we can't re-open the many small local parks closed in Arkansas. The rest stops were closed due to queers and drug addicts gathering there were a "public safety hazard". The small parks were closed due to lack of funding. Our state budget has had a surplus for several years now. Did we also run out of many to fund state troopers? Couldn't we re-open the rest stops and put a state trooper there, parked in a car? If he needs to leave for a wreck, he would be closer than he would be at HG. The public image of Arkansas took a hit when we closed our parks and rest stops. Do the gays and druggies run this state or do the law-abiding citizens? Can we not manage our money? My proposal is this: All government agencies will produce a budget showing how we cut costs by 10% or increased public service by 10%. Then we can re-open the parks and rest stops. If you know either of these men or their staffs, e-mail them and ask , Why?

This is best place to eat in Jonhson County. Just off Cherry Street in Clarksville, this small place combines a restaurant and market. Taco Bell is a cheap imitation of this place. 10 tables, kitchen in view of customers, cheap food quick. Maybe there's a better place to eat in Arkansas but I doubt it.

Clarksville Arkansas Downtown

In the wasteland known as downtown Clarksville, the new Joco Java is a breathtaking beautiful place to relax. Inside is an eclectic decor with books to read and chairs to listen to music in. You can order coffee and tea and sandwiches. The outside patio continues to enhance the dining experience. There are three places to go downtown Clarksville: the Joco Java, the El Palnque mexican restaurant and CJ's Garden. There are over two dozen empty storefronts downtown but these three are ample reason to go downtown. Forget eating at the corporate and plastic places to eat. These three are real and personal. Soon there will be other people realize the opportunities downtown Clarksville offers.

I am going to vote for Jimmy Stephens for Sheriff of Johnson County,Arkansas. Never voted for a Democrat but if he can start to go after the drugs here I will give him a chance. We need to be aggressive in fighting drugs, not passive. Let's humiliate their families by publishing their pictures in the Graphic. Make them wear pink uniforms at the jail. Make them work for the Road Dept picking up trash off the roads. Start a Snitches Fund by selling off their homes and cars. Charge criminals in the jail a daily fee and put that money in the Fund. Get criminals to rat out each other for money. Do Something! Vote for Jimmy Stephens.

This is opening day of most farmer's markets in America. Not In Clarksville,Arkansas. Despite running as devout Democrats, these phony liberals oppose any effort to develop and grow a quality farmer's market in Johnson County. They charge annual membership and daily fees but give little in return. Instead of Buy Local their motto is Buy at Wal-mart. Most food is trucked in for over 150 miles. We have local farmers able to provide fresh fruit and vegetables, fish and flowers etc. but instead we are harassed by the local Chamber of Commerce. We have people that want to have a poultry sell and swap . Eight weeks to planting starts here in the River Valley.

Supposedly, he is the father of my wife,Tracy, whose mother's maiden name was Connie Middlebrook from Tupelo,Ar. He was an athlete and outstanding student. Member of the yearbook staff and FFA. Family myth and legend has it that Steve Wiggins parents were heavy drinkers and his father committed suicide in the family grocery store. Despite this Steve appears to have accomplished much on his own. The legend goes on that after graduation Steve Wiggins moved to Chicago and married a Mafia princess. He later returned in a big white limo just long enough for the Big Woods locals to see and recognize him. Others have said that old man Middlebrook took offense and the young man was never seen in Tupelo again. He was someone's son, grandson and maybe brother. He went to school in Augusta, played for the Red Devils,and graduated around 1965. 42 years later I want to know where he is now. No reward offered and I won't tell anybody that you helped me find my wife's missing father. If you have any information, please e-mail me soon. Tracy's mother passed away last summer. Looking out my living room window is a beautiful site. Fall colors, leaves on the ground, chickens in the yard. I have enough firewood cut and stacked for this year. It's mid-60's this afternoon so there won't be a fire tonight. Monday means back to Tyson Foods for three days. My Dad and I plowed the last of the chile peppers under yesterday. We plan to double our chile garden next year. We are building an acre pen to house livestock. We are trying to find a logger to cut the pines in my backyard. If they are cut by spring we plan to build a bigger dog pen for the Great Pyrenees and poultry. We have been researching appropriate technology websites about fishfarmingirrigation and strawbale greenhouses/hoop houses. We plan to buy some heritage livestock and heirloom garden seeds. We are battling the local Chamber of Commerce about the dismal Clarksville Farmer's Market. The WinRock Foundation is at least encouraging me with information. Clarksville ,Johnson County is politically controlled by the local Democrats but they act more conservative than 1950's Republicans or Muslim Sheiks. They even want to ban skateboards downtown. Purely backwards and backwoods.

I am looking for anyone that could help me develop and promote a successful farmers market. I live in rural arkansas, clarksville,ar. to be precise. Population about 4,500 and 30,000 in the Johnson county area. This is the country that you in the City think about. I am not sure you dream about living and being here because today it was 97 degrees in the shade. The farmer down the road finished mowing the 20 acres of my Dad's pasture. My chile peppers are done for this year unless God sends rain soon. I had a small experimental garden this year. Just to see what would sell and how much to grow next season. The local high school greenhouse will be growing my transplants,20 flats of Chile peppers,watermelons,etc. But my problem is that the local Chamber of Commerce frowns on our small farmers market. No encouragement, no promotion. I plan to change this. I just need some help and advice. I have written to the WinRock Institute for help. If they can grow a market in Africa or Nepal ,surely they can help me to help others here. The Mennonites want to sell their home-made bread, the Mexicans want to buy my chiles and the locals want to sell their produce. We just don't have a good place to go and set up shop. Not Yet!

First Baptist Church - Clarksville,Ar.

I write about what I see and hear. If I see a black or white horse and tell you the correct color, I haven't been judgmental, I have merely made an observation. Whether or not I am member of a Church or not plays no part in my observations. I went to FBC and saw one man singing. I want FBC to grow as much as anyone. It could be a positive thing in an increasingly negative Johnson County. I saw the Africa Mission collection slip. I wondered how much money is being spent here to help local people. Where's the video of FBC accomplishments locally? The water give-away is an advertisement for your Church. What does FBC? I am the newcomer, I am the visitor. Here's your feedback, do with it what you want and can. Feed and clothe the poor? Visit the sick and imprisioned? Campaign against abortion and pornography? Help drug addicts or the abused? Campaign to fill the political offices with conservative lawnmakerS? Promote modesty? We need a Town Hall meeting every Sunday to discuss what we are going to do here in this County, not Africa. My honesty will certainly anger some but maybe someone will get mad enough to listen.

FBC/Clarksville

On my Yahoo 360 I wrote about going to Church Sunday with my family. We are fairly simple, traditional Christians. Our politics is conservative Republican. The FBC was moved from Cherry Street to Crawford a few years ago. It was thought to be a local missionary type Baptist Church with a strong local outreach program in mind. Somehow the original vision was lost. The common people came and soon left because they felt uncomfortable and unwelcomed. Where are the food/shelter/clothing projects once talked about? Are there no problems here in Johnson County to work on? Will our glory in Heaven be based on watching a video of a former pastor working in Africa? Will a preacher from here ever go somewhere else and tell people from away about how the FBC Clarksville saved 30,000 souls here? What programs will he show on DVD about what we did here? There are 2 services, were both full of people singing the songs that they know? Yes, the children are the future but at the present the "white-hairs" financially support the FBC. Part-time positions being paid full-time wages in voluntary commitments. Listen to the people, I heard sad noises and low grumbling from inside the FBC and I am an outsider. If I heard no singing but yours, why can't you hear the sadness?

I have written a new comment on my Yahoo 360 about the National Democrats 50 state stategy. I want to know why a Conservative, Christian in Arkansas should vote for the liberal Party. If you can tell a why I should vote Democrat without saying one negative word about the GOP send it to me now. You have 2.5 years to convince me.

Homosexual's get Christian fired

Robert Smith of the Maryland Metro Board was fired for thinking his religious beliefs. As a Roman Catholic he believes that being gay is a deiviant lifestyle. He wasn't fired for doing a bad job or stating his views at a paid government meeting. He was fired for stating his religious beliefs off-duty. A so-called tolerant governor fired his appointeee because a gay man objected to Mr. Smith's reliogious thinking. Christians are now boycotting Ford Motors because of its aggressive support of the gay agenda. We need to boycott companies and states that openly support the anti-Christian agenda. Gays make up about 3-6 per cent of the American population. Minorities must be protected from discrimination. But giving gays a protected staus is wrong. The majority believe that being gay is wrong/deviant behaviour. It's hard to believe that a man can be fired for his religious beliefs.

Tyson Foods feeds the chilldren of Clarksville,Ar

Tyson Foods of Clarksville,Arkansas feeds the children, teachers and volunteers at the first annual
Spadra Creek Kids fishing tournament. Over 80 6th-5th grade students, dozens of teachers and volunteers and countless parents were fed by Tyson Foods. The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission donated 400 large catfish, Tyson Foods donated lunch and Hurley Enterprises donated the bait for the 175 fish that were caught by the children. Mayor Billy Helms of Clarksville deserves a big thank you for getting the $93,000 grant to help rebuild the Spadra Creek bed. The Spadra Creek Walking Trail goes from Downtown Clarksville at The University of the Ozarks along the Creek to Wendys. Over the Bridge the wooded trail doubles back making it over a three mile walk. We need to expand the trail from Clarksville to Lamar. Positive things happen to positive thinking people. Tyson Foods management at Clarksville works hard to help the local community.
We need more cooperation between local business,government and civic organizations to create days such as today.
